Referee education programme
There are very few opportunities for referees to get good training in Kenya. There are no regular refresher workshops either to enable referees locally to stay in touch with new FIFA rules. This has contributed negatively to the good handling of matches at all levels in our local competitions. KISE provides good quality refereeing courses round the year. Internationally recognized referee instructors are invited periodically to assist our local ones give courses. KISE has lined up a series of basic and advanced referee courses and also i-day seminars to educate referees on new rules and how to apply them. Very young referees are also encouraged to take these courses in large numbers as we have a deficiency of top level referees. In the international matches we see almost no referees coming from our country appointed to officiate matches. This trend will change as KISE continues producing some of the best referees around.
