KISE to Conduct an Advanced Coaching Course

KISE will, from tomorrow conduct a 10-day football coaching course at the Goan Institute in Nairobi. Over 20 coaches from different parts of the country will attend the course. Francis Kimanzi and Peter Serry will conduct the course. The course will end on the 17th of September 2008.
Most of the coaches who will attend the course are very dynamic, young and promising coaches, who have ushered in a new revolution in Kenyan Soccer which for a long time has been dominated by the very old coaches. The young coaches just recently wound up their careers as football players in the top league and have been encouraged to become football administrators.
Some of the coaches include Mickey Weche, former AFC Leopards and Kenyan International Player, Edward Karanja formerly from Tusker FC and the National team, Charles Oduor and Japhary Oyando, who currently play for Tusker FC and are former internationals, Nicholas Muyoti who turns out for Premier League Side, Thika United and also a former national team Captain, Victor Waweru formerly of Tusker FC, Mike Mururi from Chemelil and formerly a national team player.
The Kisumu Youth Football Association, a very successful and young organisation from Kisumu has a total of 8 participants attending the course. KYFA has produced very young and intelligent coaches who have contributed immensely in improving the soccer standards in Kisumu.
Members of the Sports for Social Change Network, private individuals and nationwide coaches will also attend the course.
The Chief guests who will grace the opening ceremony of the cours will include the Secretary of Sports, Mr Daniel Maanzo, Dr Auma Obama the Co-ordinator of the Sports for Social Change Network, Mr Patrick Naggi, who is the Technical Director of the Kenya Football Federation, and Mr Sammy Obingo, the Secretary General of the Kenya Football Federation. Madam Anastasia from Kenya Data Network will also be one of the Chief guests.
